This week in fellowship we will discuss “The Exchanged Identity of Sin and Righteousness.” The fear and lack of knowledge concerning “Sin and Righteousness” in the church and outside the church is amazing. Although I am amazed, I am definitely in no way surprised! Think about it for a minute. We all live in the post resurrection of Christ, the only time God has provided for man to receive Spiritual Birth and begin again as another person Spiritually. Yet the vast majority in the church today live, move and have the mindset of before the cross, fixed on the issues of Sin and righteousness of the law. This produces and yields a self correcting theology of law and works to avoid sin to become more righteousness. The “be like Jesus” format, with WWJD mentality! They are sadly, ever learning but never coming to the knowledge of Spiritual Identity, while living in the dispensation of Sonship! So, what does the exchanged identity of sin and righteousness mean? Let’s talk about it…
This week in fellowship we will look at a little history about Timothy Paul’s son in Christ. Who was he and why did Paul deem it necessary to write to him? Who were his parents? Let’s talk about it….
Tomorrow’s message will piggy back on brother Kurtis’ message, “Born Again – The Cornerstone of True Spiritual Identity Part-1.” His whole message was exceptionally enlightening, and emphasized our Spiritual Identity having its foundation and cornerstone in being born again! But the part of his message which most caught my attention was the discussion on Bible commentaries. Before we leap into the message, let me discuss “semantics” – you know, when it sounds like someone is saying the same thing, just differently. The message might very well sound like a debate of semantics to some, but that is simply not the case. There is a process and progression in learning and growing up in our identity as the Spiritual Son of God! This process of Sonship is and should be fluid. Information, which is meaningful, becomes Spiritual knowledge, which over time leads to Spiritual understanding. As that Spiritual understanding is being lived and yielded to, it will be swallowed up into Spiritual oneness and realization of personal Identity as the Son of God! So, let’s talk about it…
Today I will share with you why you are not a mistake if you have recevied spiritual birth and become The Spiritual Son of God, who is the Father of all Humanity. The term “Son of God” is used in the Hebrew Bible as another way of referring to humans with special relationships with God. In the New Testament, ‘Son of God’ is applied in reference to Jesus on many occasions. We also know that Jesus is recognized as the Son of God on two occasions by a voice speaking from Heaven, in:
(Matthew 3:17) –17 And lo a voice from heaven, saying, This is my beloved Son, in whom I am well pleased. And in
(Mark 1:11) –11 And there came a voice from heaven, saying, Thou art my beloved Son, in whom I am well pleased.
Jesus is also openly and unreservedly described as the Son of God by himself and by various individuals who appear in the New Testament. So, who are you then? What part do you have with the Father? At least we now know one thing that is clear, that Jesus is called “Son of God,” while followers of Jesus are called, “Sons of God”. The difference here is as applied to Jesus, the term is in reference to his role as the Messiah, or Christ, the King chosen by God:
(Matthew 26:63) But Jesus held his peace, And the high priest answered and said unto him, I adjure thee by the living God, that thou tell us whether thou be the Christ, the Son of God.
Some of my favorite verses in the bible are found in John.
John:1- 5 In the beginning was the Word, and the Word was with God, and the Word was God. The same was in the beginning with God. All things were made by him; and without him was not anything made that was made. In him was life; and the life was the light of men. And the light shineth in darkness; and the darkness comprehended it not.
Well, most people misunderstand these verses and make an error about their descendants some saying that man came from a monkey, or Homo erectus several million years ago. Even scientists in error agree that humans came from evolution-ancestors appeared some 5 million years ago. …Well not believing that God exist …is like saying the universe is false … or in the words of the Scientist Albert Einstein (1954): — “Science without religion is incapacitated, and religion without science is blind.”
“We all make mistakes, have struggles, and even regret things in our past. But you are not your mistakes, you are here now with the power to shape your day and your future.” Steve Maraboli
You are Sons and Sons of God not monkeys or animals. So, let’s talk about it….
I am going to conclude last weeks message by explaining our new spiritual birth and our resultant true spiritual identity in a way that very few in the church understand today. What you understand and realize about your true spiritual identity after receiving Christ is completely dependent on what spiritual birth means to you. Everything you build on your spiritual foundation, which is Christ, is entirely dependent on how you orient the cornerstone. What is at stake is the realization of your true spiritually birthed identity to God the Father. Let’s talk…
This week we’re going to talk the foundation and cornerstone Sonship, Spiritual birth! Many call themselves Christians and have assumed that they are spiritually born from above – and are not. Others are the spiritually born of God and have been living identities that do not belong to them because they do not know who they were created to be – purposed to be, before the creation of time and the world itself. This is the dilemma because both are identical to the natural eyes of man. What does the church really understand about spiritual birth? It is an important question because spiritual birth is the cornerstone of our true spiritual identity.
There’s a lot of talk these days about freedoms being taken away and living in a free country all in the same breath. Can freedoms be stolen? Can someone who is free not have freedom. Or can someone who has freedom not be free. Are these two words freedom and free interchangeable? And of course, are there different kinds of freedoms? And what does Sonship have to do with freedom and free? Let’s talk about it…
Happy Mother’s Day! We trust you all have a wonderful and blessed day! We will take a look at the book of Ruth on this Mother’s Day. The Book of is both dynamic and powerful. It only has four chapters with 86 total verses. But Ruth was not yet the center of who God moved His plan of salvation through in the precious book. It was Naomi, her name means (“my delight”). Although many see Ruth as the central theme of this book, she is over shadowed by the woman of faith, Naomi, her mother-in-law. Several powerful verses in the book of Ruth bare out Naomi’s unique and amazing part in what God was about to do in His plan for Israel and Sonship. So, who is Naomi? Let’s talk about it…
It’s our first Sunday in May 2021. Already! This week we will continue discussing another aspect in the mystery of Sonship. In August 2016 we did a message called “You have asked nothing in my Name”. And, I could have titled this message “You have asked nothing in my Name 2.0”. But that’s not what the Father gave me. Instead, revealed another lesson in Spiritual Sonship. Although our primary verses are in John chapter 14, we will also cover chapter16 as well. So, let me set the stage for you as we enter the mystery of Spiritual Sonship. Jesus and his disciples have finished eating the last supper (13:2). This is what we call Thursday evening. This is also the evening he is taken prisoner in garden of Gethsemane, endure seven trials and nailed to the cross the next day. So, chapters 13-16 are the upper room discourse where Jesus pours out his heart to his disciples. We’ll begin with his words in chapter 14. So, let’s talk about…
Regardless of how true something may be, when it challenges your current identity and falls outside of your current beliefs, you will either reject it or try to merge it with your present reality. Your established beliefs prevent you from receiving the truth. It is your inability to release control and walk away from your beliefs that inhibit you from realizing your true spiritual identity as the spiritual son of God. So, let’s talk about it…
