The message this week is on the “power of the past” and “letting go”.  In our intro verses Paul says tells us that he was forgetting those things which were behind and press toward the mark of the high calling of God in Christ Jesus.  Paul said “this one thing I do…forgetting and reaching.”  Can this be a union statement?  And, will oneness and identity come next?   What is the his foundation of for this statement?  Let’s see what the Spirit is saying!

Several years ago Katherine and I were to a Christlife Fellowship, Weekend in the Word in Pine Cove, Texas.  It was Katherine’s first ever Pine Cove and my first in almost 20 years.  It was a joy to see some of the brothers and sister I hadn’t seen and fellowship with in a very long time.  It was during this meeting I heard something that touched me deep within  my Spirit. Our dear brother warren Litzman was teaching and he said these words “over this past year I’ve talked to and counseled with a lot of Christians.” He went on to say “there’s one thing I’ve come to see that has become obvious to me, is their biggest problem is that they can’t let go of their past”.  WOW, that was great!  Brother Litzman explained it was their hurts, and pains and things that went on in the past which kept them in bondage to the situations and circumstances they were facing. I can’t tell you what he was saying meant to him but I know what the Spirit was saying to me.  You see, we had been teaching on identity in our fellowship for several months. And, this was an excellent confirming word.  The words “they can’t let go of their past” was a deep rich statement.   This is the source to the power of the past. Let’s talk about it…..
