This week our message is on compartmentalization and it’s use in the struggle with identity – the place we refuse to go and the person we deny we’ve become.  Why is that?  Is it just desensitization to the person of Christ?  No, but it is the source. Compartmentalization is the means by which many attempt to escape the struggle of true identity!  Many of us have very deep rooted fears and beliefs. Far too many of us continually take on more information which usually just continues to support our deep rooted fears, ideas, and belief system.  And, like most humans, we strive to keep the security of our beliefs within the comfort zone.  After all, we dare not forsake or question anything we’ve been told or taught concerning our understanding of the person of Christ or the truth of the gospel.  This is where compartmentalization with its cognitive dissonance enters, and the struggle with identity begins.  The way to end this struggle is simple – just receive fresh revelation from the Holy Spirit. Sadly, that’s not usually possible, because we’re stuck in the past, with all of our same old fears and beliefs!  We want what we have always believed to remain intact.  Amen for the religion we proclaim that has made us free!  Jesus was asked this question in the gospel of John.

“And [some] of the Pharisees which were with him heard these words, and said unto him, Are we blind also?  Jesus said unto them, If ye were blind,           ye should have no sin: but now ye say, We see; therefore your sin remaineth.” Jhn 9:40-41.

There is more to discuss on this matter.  So, let’s talk about it….
